If you have decided to have orthodontic treatment, you know what you need to do to improve the look of his teeth. The benefits of having braces is more than just looks.

 

Crooked or crowded teeth may cause uneven wear along the tooth edges or jaw problems which can complicate things later in life. They can also make it difficult to clean in those areas which can lead to gum disease or tooth decay.

 

Whilst usually around the childhood (8 and up) and adolscence stages, warrants orthodontic treantment if it will benefit them, many adults are also wanting to improve their look aswell.

 

Treatment time can vary from 18 months to 30 months. Depending on the severity of the bite or crooked teeth, it can be a minimum 12 months! This would depend on the dentist's opinion.

 

There are different brackets that are placed on teeth. The metal brackets are more commonly used and most effective in moving teeth. Ceramic/clear brackets are also used but for an extra cost. You can discuss these other options with our dentist.

You would need to discuss whether braces/invisalign is an option for you. Treatment would be up to the dentist's discretion. They will also consider specialist orthodontist referral if need be.
